Be an asset to society, not a liability.

The only way to fix America

No matter where you stand on issues with our country, we can all agree on a few things. We can all agree that what we are doing as a country is not working, and we can all agree that some changes have to be done in order to fix it. The "how" and "when" is relevant, but we will reserve that for another time. In order to address those issues, we have to address the mindset first. If you have been following anything from the Metromedia Brand over the last several months you already know that we have talked about mindset before, but let's explore why this is more important now than it has ever been before.

What does it mean

What I mean by becoming an asset to society versus being a liability to society has nothing to do with what you do for a living, it has everything to do with how you handle yourself. An asset to society can be defined as someone that is teaching their kids right from wrong, someone who is working or operating a business that contributes to the community they serve, someone that goes above and beyond to help others, and someone that is not sitting around and collecting money from the government for no apparent reason. A liability to society is someone that chooses not to work, someone that does not hold their kids accountable, and/or someone that tries to collect handouts when they do not need them, There is a lot of behaviors that could count as asset or liability that I did not include here. Right now, we have a lot of people acting like liabilities and not enough acting as assets.

Converting the liabilities to assets.

As business owners, and leaders, we are coined with the task of reeducating people that are acting as liabilities to society to become assets. This current workforce wants to collect more but, they want to do less, as we saw in the State of the Union address the liability of our government says businesses are "overcharging", you need to ignore that. Get one thing straight, profit is not a bad word, There are a lot of people that are reentering the workforce for the first time in a couple of years, they will need to be pushed, it is not going to be easy, but remember, you are a leader and you can do it. They did not build Rome overnight.
